The Design Challenge

Create a design for a home on a small lot using ordinary materials.  They should be simple but provide comfortable spaces for a couple who wish to provide a welcoming environment for their children and future grandchildren.

The Design Response

The home as designed provides a large space for family gatherings and dinners.  The bedroom area upstairs can function as one large space or be divided into two smaller spaces.  There is a master suite on the ground level to allow the Owners to “age in place”.
